Occupational Therapists
Erica Altenhofen: Erica has worked in both a clinical outreach setting as well has home settings and strongly believes and enjoys working where the children she is serving work and play. Erica is very creative and involving of the whole family. She also enjoys working with a team to support the child. Erica has wonderful experience working with Autism, Asperger's, Down Syndrome, DeGeorge Syndrome, and many neuromuscular disorders.
Debbie Burre: Debbie is and Occupational Therapist that has worked in a variety of settings including home health, schools, state schools and clinics. She brings twenty years of experience to the team. She is knowledgeable in areas of Autism and Asperger’s , and as in many cases, the behavior concerns that are present with those diagnosis. She also has extensive experience in feeding concerns, Down’s syndrome, vision, motor skills and Sensory Integrative needs. Debbie actively involves the clients in their communities where they play and live and helps them participate in their social networks.
Kelly Daugherty: Kelly is holds the NDT (Neuro Developmental Therapist) certification. Kelly has over 10 years experience working extensively with children with neurodevelopmental concerns, especially Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, and neurological issues related to strokes. She also has knowledge and experience working with Sensory Processing disorders and adaptive equipment. Kelly has three children at home, including a set of twins.
Christine Glover: Along with being the owner of Therapeutic Living Solutions, Christine is also an Occupational Therapist. She has over ten years of professional experience working directly with families in the natural environment. She has also worked in a school setting and really believes in the carry over to the home environment and empowering the children and families that she serves. She has an extensive background working with Sensory Processing disorders, Autism, PDD as well as various other diagnosis such as Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy and feeding concerns. Christine gives many presentations to a wide variety of groups relating to Sensory Processing and development. She is also a parent of a child with special needs so understands the urgency, anxiety and mix of emotions that parents go through trying to help their children engaging in their daily routines, doctor and hospital visits, as well as the school IEP process.
Mel Kopf: Mel has worked exclusively in the home environment and enjoys the support and empowerment that she can help bring to the families that she serves. She has a strong background in neuromuscular disorders, feeding concerns, as well as Sensory Processing disorders. She is dedicated to each family that she serves and is very creative and enthusiastic about her job. She also has great knowledge and experience working with adaptive equipment.
Charla Nichols: Charla is both an Occupational Therapist and a Psychologist. Charla is a wonderful Occupational Therapist with over ten years of professional experience working with children. She was also a classically trained musician and brings great creativity to working with her clients. She is passionate about helping the entire family and through her experience in working with various community agencies, has great knowledge of various resources to help families in the local community. Charla has extensive experience and training in Sensory Processing disorders and has worked with various diagnosis ranging from issues associated with pre-maturity, to feeding and muscular disorders. Her background and training also provides wonderful support for behavioral concerns.
Trina Rice: Trina Rice is and Occupational Therapist who has worked in both home and clinic settings. She is also a licensed massage therapist, cranial sacral therapist and certified in Auditory Listening. She also is trained in performing electro dermal screenings, to help determine how our bodies are truly functioning. Trina has extensive experience in Sensory Integrative needs as well as Autism, Asperger’s, feeding and motor skill areas.
Physical Therapists
Mike Marker: Mike brings twenty years of experience to our team. The majority of his career has been working with children and families where they live, play and work and supports each child's efforts to participate in their community. Mike is also certified in International Metronome Therapy. Mike has tremendous knowledge with various neuromuscular disorders and well as experience working with individual's with Sensory Processing disorders and how that can and does impact their physical activities as well. He is very knowledgeable in working with adaptive equipment. Mike is dedicated to all he serves and is a wonderful team member.
Michelle Swanson Wyrick: Michelle is a Physical Therapist who has energy and caring that she brings to each client. She has worked with children with various orthopedic needs from birth through adulthood. She has experience in working with individuals with Developmental Disorders, issued related to prematurity, as well as accidents and injuries. Michelle has extensive training in Sensory Processing disorders and their impact on a child's physical activities and abilities. Michelle has a wonderful way of developing a report with children and their families. She is very creative and has extensive training in adaptive equipment. She is dedicated to all she serves, including our team, and is a great asset to her clients.
Speech Therapists
Laura Green: Laura brings close to ten years experience working with individual's birth through adult. She loves working with early intervention and with older clients with developmental diagnosis. She has worked extensively with individual's with Down Syndrome, neuromuscular disorders, apraxia, feeding and swallowing, motor planning difficulties, oral motor concerns, and issues related to prematurity. Laura is creative and develops wonderful relationships with the children and families that she serves. She believes in helping to create strategies to develop effective communication as well as finding easy ways to incorporate exercises and strategies into families daily routines.
Rebecca May: Rebecca brings over ten years of experience to our team. She has worked both in a school setting and in homes. She is a wonderful part of the team and works well with both children and their families. She has extensive experience in working with a variety of disorders that affect speech including Autism, Asperger's, Down Syndrome, Cleft Palette, oral motor concerns, neuromuscular disorders, issues related to prematurity, feeding concerns, apraxia and motor planning difficulties. Rebecca has great skill in working with articulation concerns, receptive and expressive language and understands the importance in helping someone communicate to avoid frustration to all and help alleviate or prevent difficult behaviors as a result of not being able to communicate wants and needs. Rebecca is the mother of three little girls, one of which has a very rare form of Muscular Dystrophy so is dedicated to helping all that are faced with challenges with their own children and understands from a parent's perspective, the importance of early intervention.
Jenny Miles: Jenny is a wonderfully caring and energetic therapist that has worked in both clinical and home based settings. She believes in the importance of communication and finding successful strategies that work for both her direct clients as well as the families that she serves. Jenny is very knowledgeable in developmental stages and works with other team members to help with all of the client's concerns. Jenny has experience with feeding, oral motor development, apraxia, Down Syndrome, DeGeorge Syndrome, Autism and sensory processing disorders as well as various neuromuscular diagnosis.
Darcie Osgood: Darcie has close to ten years of experience working with individual's throughout the lifespan, especially children. She has worked both in schools and homes and loves working in the community where children live and play. Her main goal is to get each child to communicate and socialize with those around them. She is warm and caring and has worked with a variety of language needs from articulation to physical impairments. She has experience with a variety of diagnosis including feeding, oral motor concerns, articulation, receptive and expressive language, apraxia, motor planning, Down Syndrome, DeGeorge Syndrome, and Sensory processing disorders. Darcie is also a mother to a son that was born very premature so understands from a parent's perspective how scary situations may be for parents and how precious are children are to all.
Jordan Rawlings: Jordan is a wonderful part of the team and has over ten years experience working with children of all ages. She has great skill in working with a variety of diagnosis and needs and strongly believes in the importance of helping someone communicate their wants and needs as well as to communicating to help foster friendships. She has experience working with a variety of nueormuscular disorders, sensory processing disorders, oral motor concerns and motor planning along with apraxia and feeding issues. Jordan is creative and dedicated to all she serves and has wonderful resources to share with families.
Keenan Stump: Keenan is a Speech Therapist who has worked in both school and home settings. He has worked with individuals ranging in ages from birth through adults. He enjoys working with individuals with Autism, but has experience in feeding, oral motor concerns, articulation and receptive and expressive languages. Keenan is also a touring musician who likes to bring music into client’s lives as ways to engage and encourage communication. Keenan has a lot of fun with all of the clients he serves and they have great fun with him as well. He finds wonderful strategies to help encourage language and oral motor exercises that easily fit within a family's daily routine.
Special Instructors/Developmental Therapists
Sarah Fields: Sarah has the unique combination of being a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant as well as an Early Childhood Special Educator. Sarah has nearly twenty years experience in both the home and clinic settings. She is also trained in vision concerns. Sarah works as a Special Instructor with our team and helps prepare children for academics, and focuses on academic, social, cognitive and self-help skills. She has a strong background in the areas of Sensory Integrations, motor skills, Autism and Asperger’s.
Jessica Iverson: Jessica has over ten years experience working with children in both school and at home. She was teacher of the year in Illinois her first year after graduation and brings high enthusiasm, energy and encouragement to all she works with and supports. Jessica strongly believes in early intervention but also the support of both families and children that are in school to help children love to learn and break down barriers to learning. Whether their be learning disorders or developmental concerns, Jessica has wonderful, creative ideas to help foster overall development and learning to prepare children for the next steps in their development.
Behavioral Interventionists
Angel Harkins: Angel is truly an Angel to all she serves. Her dedication and passion to helping her clients is only exceeded by her belief that everyone deserves a chance to be all they can be and that families need to be supported as well as the children. She has worked for various community and national organizations that she provides families with tremendous resources. She is very creative and eclectic in her approach and finds strategies that are a fit for each individual family. Angel has a son with Autism and understands the concerns and issues that families face and really believes in giving each client their own voices. She is a wonderful advocate and really believes in getting clients out into the communities in which they live.
Lindsey Kinney: Lindsey has over ten years of experience working with individuals with behavioral concerns. Her background is in psychology and she has an eclectic approach to finding the best strategies that work for each individual and family. She is extremely dedicated and creative and develops a great relationship with families and clients. She seeks the support from the entire team to develop strategies and is very effective in training others to help support the client. She has a passion about helping people and giving each person their independence and support to foster that independence. She gets the clients out into the communities where they live and develops successful strategies to support them in their community.
